Catalyit Team Review
Helping growing agencies run more of the insurance lifecycle without stitching together multiple systems
Updated: August 2026
What we like:
- Rating and the AMS are closely connected: EZLynx's personal-lines comparative rater remains an important differentiator because quoting, client data, policy information, and ongoing service can live within the same environment.
- Broad functionality without requiring a large technology stack: Agency management, CRM, marketing, automation, texting, retention, accounting, payments, client self-service, and quoting can all be part of the EZLynx environment.
- Strong personal-lines quoting foundation: The Rating Engine provides single-entry, real-time comparative quoting across a large carrier network, reducing the need for producers to repeatedly enter applicant information into carrier portals.
- Commercial capabilities continue to expand: Native commercial submissions and newer instant commercial quoting give agencies a path to manage more small-commercial opportunities alongside their personal-lines workflows.
- Automation is being embedded into everyday work: EZLynx continues to add automation across sales, renewals, service, communication, and policy workflows, helping agencies reduce repetitive activity without adding another standalone system.
Things to consider:
- Agencies should evaluate the complete package they actually need. EZLynx offers a broad range of capabilities, so pricing and functionality should be compared based on the modules and workflows the agency intends to use.
- Carrier connectivity still matters. Agencies should verify personal and commercial carrier availability by product and state rather than evaluating the platform based only on total carrier counts.
- An all-in-one strategy requires workflow discipline. Agencies will get more value when employees consistently work within EZLynx rather than maintaining parallel spreadsheets, communication tools, and manual processes.
- More complex organizations should test their requirements carefully. Multi-location agencies and larger organizations should evaluate accounting, reporting, permissions, integrations, and organizational structure against their specific operational needs.
Summary
Independent agencies often build their technology stack one problem at a time. They add a comparative rater, CRM, texting tool, marketing platform, payment solution, client portal, automation tool, and other applications until employees spend a meaningful part of the day moving between systems.
EZLynx takes a more consolidated approach. The platform combines agency management with personal-lines comparative rating and extends into commercial submissions, sales and marketing, renewals, communication, accounting, payments, client self-service, and automation.
Why should agencies care? Every additional system creates another place for employees to work, another integration to maintain, and another opportunity for client or policy information to become disconnected. Bringing more of those workflows together can reduce system switching and make it easier for agencies to establish consistent processes.
What stood out during our review is how much of the policy lifecycle EZLynx is now trying to connect around the AMS. The comparative rater remains an important part of the story, but the broader value is increasingly the ability to move from prospect to quote to policyholder service without changing technology environments as often.
Key Features:
- Agency management and policy servicing
- Personal-lines comparative rating
- Commercial submissions and quoting
- CRM and sales pipeline management
- Marketing and workflow automation
- Email and text communication
- Accounting, payments, and reporting
- Renewal management and client self-service
Best fit for:
- Startup and growing independent agencies wanting to limit the number of separate systems they need to manage
- Personal-lines agencies where comparative rating is a high-volume daily workflow
- Agencies expanding into small commercial and looking for quoting and submission capabilities connected to the AMS
- Agencies wanting CRM, communication, marketing, automation, payments, and client service closer to their management system
- Multi-user agencies prepared to standardize workflows around a common platform
May not be ideal for:
- Agencies that prefer a best-of-breed technology strategy built around multiple specialized applications
- Organizations whose accounting, reporting, organizational, or integration requirements exceed what EZLynx can support for their specific operation
- Agencies whose key carrier relationships aren't well represented within the available rating and submission connections
- Teams unlikely to adopt the broader platform and therefore unable to benefit from consolidating workflows
Deeper Dive
The Problem Being Solved: Growing agencies frequently reach a point where the technology intended to make employees more productive starts creating additional work.
A producer quotes in one system and manages the prospect in another. Service teams work in the AMS but communicate through separate texting and email tools. Marketing maintains another database. Payments and client self-service may require additional applications.
Information then has to move between those systems.
EZLynx's approach is to put more of those activities into one agency environment. Client and policy information can support quoting, sales, servicing, renewals, communication, accounting, and reporting without requiring the agency to assemble every capability independently.
That doesn't eliminate the need for integrations or specialized technology, but it can reduce how many separate systems are required for everyday work.
Why It Matters to Agencies: The comparative rater is still one of the clearest examples of why integration matters.
Applicant information can be entered once and used to obtain real-time personal-lines quotes from multiple carriers. Once the client is written, that same broader environment supports policy management, communication, renewal activity, and other agency workflows.
Commercial lines are becoming a more meaningful part of the story as well. EZLynx now combines personal-lines rating with native commercial submission capabilities, and its June 2026 releases added Instant Commercial Quoting.
For agencies that have historically been personal-lines focused but want to grow small commercial, having those workflows closer together may lower some of the operational friction involved in expanding the book.
The broader opportunity is employee capacity. Fewer disconnected workflows can mean less duplicate entry, less system switching, and more consistent information across the agency.
What Stood Out to Us: What stood out during our review is the continued evolution of EZLynx from a strong rating-centered solution into a broader agency operating environment.
The personal-lines Rating Engine remains important. Single-entry quoting across hundreds of carrier connections gives agencies a practical way to reduce repetitive quoting work.
But recent development shows attention beyond rating. In 2026, EZLynx has released enhancements around instant commercial quoting, certificate management and issuance, text-message notifications, eSignature, and personal-lines rating workflows.
We also see the embedded automation strategy as worth watching. EZLynx is increasingly incorporating automation and AI into existing workflows rather than treating AI as a separate destination employees need to visit. We think that's the more useful direction for agencies: automate specific pieces of everyday insurance work rather than add another technology layer simply because it includes AI.
For us, the differentiation is the combination: rating remains at the center of EZLynx's heritage, but more of the work before and after the quote can now stay in the same environment.
Final Thoughts
We came away seeing EZLynx's strongest value in the connection between its comparative-rating heritage and an increasingly broad agency management environment. Personal-lines rating remains a genuine differentiator, but evaluating EZLynx only as a rater misses much of what the platform has become.
The continued expansion into commercial submissions, instant commercial quoting, communication, retention, payments, client self-service, and workflow automation gives growing agencies an opportunity to consolidate technology around the AMS rather than continually adding separate applications.
For an agency principal, EZLynx is worth further evaluation when the goal is to simplify the agency's technology environment while maintaining strong personal-lines quoting capabilities. We would map your current systems and workflows against what EZLynx can replace or consolidate. If the platform can eliminate several disconnected applications while supporting the carriers and processes that matter to your agency, that's where we see the strongest business case.
