Catalyit Team Review
Helping agencies turn AMS data into trusted answers without living in exports and spreadsheet
Updated: August 2026
What we like:
- Direct connection to major agency management systems: Informer connects with AMS360, Applied Epic, and Sagitta, giving agencies a way to report on AMS data without repeatedly exporting and rebuilding information in spreadsheets.
- Built around practical agency reporting needs: Carrier reporting, commission tracking, producer scorecards, claims visibility, and operational dashboards address questions agency leaders regularly need answered.
- Creates consistency around agency metrics: Governed datasets allow agencies to define important calculations and KPIs centrally so producers, branches, and leadership aren't working from different versions of the same number.
- Strong role-based access: Row-level security can control what individual producers, branches, managers, and executives see without requiring the agency to create separate reports for every user.
- AI is being applied to a useful problem: Magic Reports, Informer Apps, and Informer GO are designed to help users build reports or ask questions of agency data in plain language, making analytics more accessible to employees who aren't data specialists.
Things to consider:
- Informer doesn't fix the underlying data by itself. Agencies still need consistent AMS workflows, coding, and data standards if they want reliable reporting.
- Implementation requires decisions about what the agency wants to measure. Connecting the AMS is only the beginning. Leadership should agree on KPIs, definitions, permissions, dashboards, and reporting responsibilities.
- The value increases with reporting complexity. Smaller agencies with straightforward reporting needs may be adequately served by their AMS reports or simpler tools.
- AI-generated answers still depend on governed data. Natural-language reporting can make information easier to access, but agencies should maintain appropriate controls and validate important financial or operational conclusions.
Summary
Most agencies don't have a shortage of data. They have a shortage of usable answers.
Policy, premium, commission, claims, renewal, producer, and client information may already exist inside the AMS, but extracting it in the right format can require exports, spreadsheets, manual calculations, and employees who know exactly where to find the information.
Informer is designed to sit on top of that agency data and make it more usable. It connects directly to systems including AMS360, Applied Epic, and Sagitta and gives agencies tools for reporting, dashboards, analytics, commission visibility, carrier reporting, and controlled self-service access.
Why should agencies care? Better reporting isn't simply about creating prettier dashboards. Agency leaders need consistent answers to questions about growth, retention, carrier performance, commissions, claims, producer performance, and operational activity. When those answers require hours of spreadsheet work—or produce different results depending on who runs the report—the agency has a data problem.
What stood out during our review is Informer's emphasis on creating a governed reporting foundation. The ability to define metrics centrally and then make those same definitions available across reports, dashboards, branches, and users is more important to us than simply having another visualization tool.
Key Features:
- Direct AMS360, Applied Epic, and Sagitta connectivity
- Carrier and operational reporting
- Commission tracking and reconciliation
- Custom dashboards and scorecards
- Governed datasets and standardized KPIs
- Row-level security and role-based access
- Scheduled reporting and delivery
- AI-assisted reporting, applications, and natural-language data questions
Best fit for:
- AMS360, Applied Epic, and Sagitta agencies that have outgrown native AMS reporting
- Multi-office or growing agencies that need consistent KPIs across producers, departments, and locations
- Agencies spending significant employee time exporting and manipulating AMS data in spreadsheets
- Agencies needing better carrier reporting, commission visibility, or operational dashboards
- Agencies wanting broader self-service access to reporting without giving every employee unrestricted access to agency data
May not be ideal for:
- Small agencies whose existing AMS reports already answer most management questions
- Agencies that haven't established consistent data-entry and coding practices
- Organizations looking for Informer to replace rather than report across their core agency systems
- Agencies unwilling to define common KPIs and establish ownership for data quality and reporting
Deeper Dive
The Problem Being Solved: Agency management systems contain a tremendous amount of information, but getting useful management reporting out of that information can still be difficult.
An agency may export data into Excel, combine information from multiple reports, adjust formulas, clean up records, and repeat the process every month or quarter. Carrier reports may require another workflow. Commission analysis may live in another spreadsheet. Leadership dashboards may depend on one employee who knows how everything fits together.
Informer creates a reporting and data layer across those sources.
Agencies can connect the AMS and other systems, define reusable datasets and metrics, and then use that foundation for dashboards, reports, scorecards, and other applications.
The goal isn't to replace the AMS. It's to make the information already inside the agency's systems easier to trust, access, and use.
Why It Matters to Agencies: As agencies grow, reporting becomes more than a leadership issue.
Carrier relationship managers need production and loss information. Accounting needs commission visibility. Sales leaders need producer performance. Department managers need operational metrics. Producers need information about their own books.
Giving everyone unrestricted access to agency-wide data isn't appropriate, but manually producing a separate spreadsheet for every person isn't scalable either.
Informer addresses that through self-service reporting combined with governance and row-level security. A producer can see information relevant to their own book, a branch manager can see the appropriate branch, and leadership can work from the broader agency view.
We also see value for agencies growing through multiple offices or acquisitions. Standardizing definitions for KPIs can help leadership compare performance across the organization without recreating the reporting structure every time the agency changes.
What Stood Out to Us: What stood out during our review is how insurance-specific Entrinsik has made the Informer story.
Carrier-ready reports can be formatted and scheduled rather than manually rebuilt each quarter. Commission tracking can compare expected and received amounts and identify discrepancies. Producer scorecards can provide controlled access to individual performance information. Operational dashboards can bring leadership metrics together.
We also paid attention to the newer AI capabilities, but not because agencies need another AI tool.
Magic Reports and Informer Apps allow users to describe the report, dashboard, or application they need in plain language. Informer GO extends access through desktop, mobile, and conversational interfaces so users can ask questions of agency information more naturally.
That can lower the technical barrier to using agency data, but we think the more important piece remains underneath: governed datasets, permissions, and consistent definitions. Asking a question in plain English is useful only when the agency trusts the data being used to answer it.
For us, that's Informer's differentiation: it combines flexible reporting with the governance needed to give more people access to agency data without creating more versions of the truth.
Final Thoughts
We came away seeing Informer's value less as “business intelligence” and more as a way to make agency data operationally useful. The problem it solves is familiar: the information exists, but getting a trusted answer requires too much manual work.
The combination of direct AMS connectivity, governed datasets, carrier reporting, commission visibility, dashboards, and role-based access gives growing agencies a way to build a more consistent reporting foundation. The newer AI capabilities can make that information easier for nontechnical users to access, but we see them as an interface to the data—not a substitute for good data governance.
For an agency principal, Informer is worth further evaluation if leadership regularly waits on custom reports, employees spend meaningful time manipulating exports, or different departments produce different answers to the same business question. We would start by identifying five to ten decisions your agency struggles to make because the necessary information is difficult to obtain. If Informer can turn those recurring questions into trusted, repeatable reporting, the value becomes much easier to see.
