Catalyit Team Review

Helping agencies keep producers licensed, current, and ready to sell
Published: August 2026

What we like:

  • Centralizes multi-state licensing work: Agencies can submit license applications and renewals across all 50 states from a single online environment rather than navigating each jurisdiction independently.
  • Makes producer authorization easier to monitor: License information, automatic updates, renewal reminders, and continuing education tracking give agencies better visibility into whether producers have the credentials they need.
  • Regulatory information is part of the workflow: Reference guides and regulatory-change notifications help employees understand requirements without independently researching every jurisdiction.
  • Electronic applications reduce repetitive licensing administration: An interview-style process collects information and translates it into the appropriate licensing application behind the scenes.
  • Relatively straightforward to adopt: Sircon for Agencies is an online service without a traditional software implementation requirement, making it accessible to agencies that need better licensing administration without deploying a larger enterprise compliance system.

Things to consider:

  • The value increases with licensing complexity. Agencies with multiple producers, states, and recurring licensing activity have a stronger use case than small organizations operating primarily in one jurisdiction.
  • This is focused on licensing compliance, not general agency operations. Agencies looking for broader onboarding, HR, sales management, or agency workflow automation will still need other systems.
  • Internal ownership remains important. Automated updates and reminders can reduce administrative work, but someone at the agency still needs responsibility for producer credentials, deadlines, exceptions, and compliance decisions.
  • Evaluate the appropriate Sircon level for your organization. Agencies with more complex distribution and compliance requirements should make sure Sircon for Agencies provides the depth they need versus other Sircon offerings or managed-service options.

Summary

Producer licensing is straightforward until it isn't. As an agency adds producers, states, lines of authority, continuing education requirements, and renewals, keeping everyone properly credentialed can become a meaningful administrative responsibility. A missed renewal or incomplete license isn't simply a compliance issue—it can prevent a producer from writing business.

Sircon for Agencies gives independent agencies a centralized environment for handling that work. Agencies can submit electronic license applications and renewals, monitor credentials, track continuing education, receive renewal reminders, and access regulatory information across jurisdictions.

Why should agencies care? Licensing work doesn't generate revenue, but licensing problems can prevent revenue from being generated. The faster and more consistently an agency can keep producers properly authorized, the less administrative friction exists between a producer and the business they are expected to write.

What stood out during our review is the direct connection Sircon has to the licensing transaction itself. This isn't simply an internal spreadsheet or reminder system for tracking expiration dates. Agencies can use Sircon to research requirements and complete many of the actual licensing transactions within the same environment.

Key Features:

  • Electronic producer credentialing
  • Multi-state license applications
  • License renewals and management
  • Automatic credential updates
  • Renewal reminders
  • Continuing education tracking
  • Regulatory reference guide
  • Regulatory change notifications

Best fit for:

  • Agencies managing producer licenses across multiple states
  • Growing agencies adding producers or expanding geographically
  • Operations teams currently tracking licensing and renewals through spreadsheets or manual reminders
  • Agencies wanting easier access to current state licensing requirements and regulatory changes
  • Organizations looking for dedicated licensing administration without implementing a broader enterprise compliance platform

May not be ideal for:

  • Very small agencies with few producers and minimal multi-state licensing activity
  • Organizations looking for a complete employee onboarding, HR, or agency-management platform
  • Agencies whose licensing administration is already efficiently handled through another compliance system or outsourced provider
  • Complex organizations that require deeper enterprise distribution-management functionality than Sircon for Agencies provides

Deeper Dive

The Problem Being Solved: Producer licensing creates repetitive administrative work with little room for error. An agency hiring a producer may need to confirm existing licenses, obtain additional non-resident licenses, monitor continuing education, handle renewals, and make sure the producer remains properly authorized as responsibilities change.

Expansion creates another layer. An agency entering additional states may suddenly need to understand licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Employees have to determine what is required, complete applications, monitor status, and make sure future renewals aren't missed.

Sircon brings much of that activity into one online environment.

Instead of treating licensing as a collection of separate state transactions, agencies can manage applications, renewals, credential information, CE, and regulatory requirements more consistently.

For us, the practical outcome is simple: fewer places to check and a clearer view of whether producers have the licenses they need to conduct business.

Why It Matters to Agencies: Licensing administration is one of those agency responsibilities that becomes increasingly difficult as the organization grows. A spreadsheet may work well for a handful of producers in a limited number of states. Add producers, remote employees, acquisitions, or geographic expansion and the number of credentials being monitored can increase quickly.

The consequences of getting it wrong also matter. An employee who discovers a producer's credential issue while trying to place business has already found the problem too late. The agency wants to identify upcoming requirements before they interfere with production.

Sircon's automatic license updates, renewal reminders, and regulatory information can make that process more proactive.

We also like the ability to complete applications and renewals from the same environment used to manage the information. There is less value in knowing a license needs attention if an employee still has to begin an entirely separate research and transaction process to fix it.

The business outcome isn't simply better compliance administration. It's keeping credentialing work from becoming a barrier to production.

What Stood Out to Us: What stood out during our review is Sircon's connection to the broader insurance licensing ecosystem. The platform isn't trying to be an AMS, HR system, or general workflow tool. It remains tightly focused on insurance credentials and the regulatory information surrounding them.

That focus makes the workflow fairly easy to understand. An agency can determine licensing requirements, submit applications and renewals, monitor credential information, track continuing education, receive reminders, and stay informed about regulatory changes.

We also think the accessibility of Sircon for Agencies is worth noting. Vertafore positions it as an online service without implementation costs or requirements, which can make it practical for agencies that have outgrown manual licensing administration but don't need a large enterprise compliance implementation.

For agencies with greater complexity, the broader Sircon ecosystem and available managed services provide paths beyond the basic agency product. That makes it important for organizations to evaluate not only whether they need Sircon, but which level of compliance support fits their structure.

For us, Sircon for Agencies' differentiation is straightforward: it connects the information agencies need to manage producer credentials with the licensing transactions required to keep those producers authorized to sell.

Final Thoughts

We came away seeing Sircon for Agencies as a focused solution to an unavoidable agency responsibility. Licensing may not be one of the more visible parts of agency technology, but as an organization grows, manually monitoring producers, jurisdictions, renewals, CE, and regulatory requirements becomes increasingly difficult.

What we like most is the combination of tracking and transaction capability. Knowing that a producer needs a renewal is useful; being able to research the requirement and complete the renewal through the same licensing environment makes that information more actionable.

For an agency principal or operations leader, Sircon for Agencies is worth further evaluation when producer licensing has outgrown spreadsheets, calendars, or individual employee knowledge. We would look at how many producers and jurisdictions the agency manages, how much employee time is spent researching and completing licensing transactions, and how confidently leadership can answer one question: “Are all of our producers properly licensed to sell where we expect them to?” If answering that question is harder than it should be, Sircon deserves a closer look.
