Integrated Mobile App That Makes Policyholder Self-Service Easy

  • Like most innovative technology, implementation is a barrier for many agencies. The agency will need someone dedicated to working with Glovebox to use its full potential.
  • Staff must be trained to be responsive to communications with clients.

Summary:
GloveBox is a mobile device client experience platform (sometimes known as a client portal). It makes policyholder self-service easy with a simple user interface and robust connection to carriers. While the most seamless integration exists with carriers that allow the use of an API for access (currently 12 with several more in the queue). The app also works with any carrier that has a website portal for their policyholders.

According to GloveBox, 70% of agency work can be handled with their intelligent service platform. The advantage of the direct to carrier integration is that it is much cleaner and provides more accurate information because it is the data from the policyholder’s carrier. The customer data from the carrier is maintained in GloveBox and refreshed each night.

I was able to experience the setup live on my phone and found it to be easy to follow. The user interface is intuitive, and information is displayed in an easy-to-follow format. Once an agency client has this type of access to their information, I believe it will lead to better retention and additional sales from that client.

Other features include an intelligent chatbot that leads the client through communications with the agency and a referral process where clients can easily text agency referral information to their friends. There is also in-app tech support directly with GloveBox. All earmarks of a company that understands agents’ needs.

The owners are former agents and understand the barriers to getting an agency client to take the time to access the platform. They simplify this process by downloading an app onto the client’s phone and intuitively leading the client through the setup process. GloveBox also had the foresight to create an “Agency Success Team” that helps the agency get started and helps them with agency branding, the rollout to clients, and training.

In a world where people increasingly want to take care of mundane items themselves instead of making a phone call and waiting for someone to process the information, this app will be very well received. The most significant barrier will be the agency creating a plan to implement the app with as many clients as possible.
